POV Ray Tracing

In 1994 a friend gave me a shareware copy of the PoV Ver 1.0 Ray Tracing program and I was instantly enchanted. It was artwork and programming combined! I had just completed a community college course in programming and was very interested in computer artwork. This scripting language was just the thing to combine artistic expression and logical programming.

During 1994-95 I learned the art of scripting scenes by designing the Temple and Garden series of images. Through 1995-96 I refined and expanded the original scenes into the CheckFloors series. The third series of pictures, Our House, was started in 1997. The sample below and on the gallery page are from the third version of Our House. And, almost unbelievably, I'm still fooling around with revisions and improvements of that design to this day (Spring 2004)!

Please visit my small POV Gallery here at this site. It features a few of my early scenes.

I have a second, larger Gallery Site that includes a more complete collection of pictures and offers ZIP files of images and scripts for downloading. There are images of a 3rd. and 4th. version of Our House and two 1910-style brownstones.
Please drop by there sometime!
