Suminagashi Paper

This is a sample of what happens when you do suminagashi on paper without using alum...the preceeding sample uses alum. The color is far brighter with alum, but its use will degrade the paper with time. Faint suminagashi patterns are a favorite base upon which to do calligraphy.
