Gourd Cave Painted 1

This is a gourd which has been burned--or pyro-engraved--with an image of a horse. The colorant is shoe polish as is the overall finish. I rather like the Paleolithic images as seen in the caves at Lascaux, Altamira, Niaux, and Chauvet...25 thousand years old, now THAT is an antique. This is a ten inch gourd and holds dried plants beautifully.
