Cave Horse Herd on Wasp Nest Paper

This paper is not your usual support. It is a wasps' nest laid out flat and glued to cotton rag blotter paper for strength. Needless to say you have to be polite when gathering this stuff out in the woods and since it is made with wasp spit and tree bark I cannot vouch for its acid content. Each one-inch stripe is another insect-mouthful of vegetable material--all in differing colors, utterly stunning and unique. I have buffered it with a wash, and mounted it on acid free papers. The printing of galloping horses makes it look very cave-like. Finished size 16" x 20".
